Termini - June 2001
Submitted by Frank Petro
These pictures are from our latest trip to Termini. My second cousin Giuseppe
took us all around town.
This first series is limited to scenes from the Piazza Duomo area, which
includes the Cathedral of San Nicola di Bari, and the old Stato Civile
building. Keep in mind that nearly all baptisms and marriages over the last
300 years took place in this Cathedral, and it was right next to the building
where they had to register these events, as well as deaths (starting in
1820).
I hope these photos give you a better insight of the place our ancestor's
spent some of their most important moments. It was certainly one of the
highlights of my trip.
