Subject: Re: Palmisano family
Message: Hi Paul, I only have the extracts for the marriage and was planning to try and find the original documents at our local family history library. So I would really appreciate it if you could send me a copy. It would save me a lot of work and time. Thanks.

Tell me more about what Kathy K. is doing for you. It sounds intersting for me at this point. How much does it cost to do the research? Have you had any success yet with using her? ...any failures?

Do you have the names of all the siblings of Ignazio? If Ignazio was the son of one of Lorenzo's sons then the other children should be named after their grandparents. ( Lorenzo and Maria)

Keep me posted if you find anything interesting, and I will do the same for you.

Message: PALERMO Issue, Comunes of Italy Magazine - March-April 2000

The March-April 2000 issue of the Comunes of Italy Magazine is almost ready for the printer. It features the much requested and heavily researched PALERMO Province in Sicily. I'm very pleased with this issue - it's packed with every morsel of information anyone needs to research the province, and there are several outstanding articles from guest authors that are sure to please all Italian genealogists.

Subject: Transatlantica Italiana
Message: My grand father came here from Termini Imerese in the late 20's. I have a copy of their papers & the ship they came on was called Transatalntica Italiana. I would like to find out info about the ship (stats, etc) & possibly a picture. Anyone have any suggestions?

Message: Vince,

Here's a great immigrant ships page:

http://www.fortunecity.com/littleitaly/amalfi/13/shipik.htm

I didn't find the Transatlantica Italiana, but it may have some links that could help you. There is a ship on there called the Italia (actually, several of them).

Subject: Re: Immigrant Ship Info
Message: In 1906 my great uncle sailed on the SS Cedric, which belonged to the White Star Line (the same line that built the Titanic), from Palermo to NYC. It arrived in NYC on Dec 31, 1906; so that is one possible ship to check out. I have not gotten around to checking passenger lists just yet, but I happen to have my gt-uncle's immigration papers that list his ship and date of arrival. Hope this helps

Message: I was looking through birth records from Termini and those prior to 1875 are hand written Italian. Those 1875 onward are fill in the blank forms. Tip - look at the index in the end of each year for the name you are looking for, listed alphabetically. There is a corresponding item number. Could make your search a little easier.

Finally, because of info I got on Saturday I'm looking for a connection to anyone who has a MICHELE CORSO b. 1797 d. ? married to MARINA Piraino b. 1801 d. ? in their tree
